Buick has been a cornerstone of the American auto industry ever since it first launched in 1903. For the last century, the brand has never once wavered in its commitment to providing drivers just like you with the very best. That devotion is clearly still alive and well in 2021, as the Buick Envision recently claimed the top spot for compact SUVs in the 2021 J.D. Power Dependability Study.
This year marks the 32nd time J.D. Power has performed the Vehicle Dependability Study. Its purpose is to highlight models with the fewest issues overall, as reported by drivers who’ve owned their cars for 3 years. The score is based on how many problems individuals experienced per 100 vehicles. The lower the score, the better the performance.
The Envision earned the coveted top spot in the highly competitive compact SUV segment, beating out the Toyota RAV4 and Subaru Forester. Buick came in fifth among all evaluated vehicles with a score of 100, crushing would-be competitors like Ford, INFINITI, and Volvo, which scored 130, 137, and 143, respectively. It also handily surpassed the industry average of 121 by a clean 21-point margin.
Now that the all-new 2021 Envision is finally on lots all over Colorado, we can’t help but assume that Buick’s winning streak is far from over. Once you give it a test drive at Transwest Buick GMC, you may have a hard time disagreeing.
The Hummer that dominated roadways in the early 2000s was many things, but efficient was not one of them. However, General Motors is now ready to rewrite the legacy of the Hummer with a much different revival.
Both EVs and trucks are growing at an accelerated rate in recent years, so the idea to add a vehicle to the GMC family that belongs to both segments makes a lot of sense. Drivers won’t have to worry about a loss of power for the Hummer, either. In fact, its status as an electric vehicle will actually help increase its power output.
Thanks to a powertrain comprised of advanced electric motors, the Hummer EV will have a reported power output of nearly 1,000 horsepower. This, combined with its incredible all-electric range, will make the GMC EV truck one of the most desirable vehicles on the market. GM has already started marketing the Hummer EV with a series of ads starring basketball legend LeBron James, centered on the silent power of the new Hummer.
The all-new iteration of the Hummer should be joining the GMC lineup sometime in 2021, and we here at Transwest Buick GMC are excited for its coming arrival.
The big innovation for the new GMC Sierra 1500 is the MultiPro™ tailgate, which has six unique configurations that enable easier loading and unloading in the cargo bed and makes accessing the cargo bed yourself much easier. The six functions of the new MultiPro tailgate are Primary Gate, Primary Gate Load Stop, Easy Access, Full-Width Step, Inner Gate Load Stop, and Inner Gate with Work Surface.
This, of course, isn’t the only change for 2019, which
ushers in a new generation; GMC also debuted new Dynamic Fuel Management
technology on the Sierra.
To drum up excitement about the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 and the
MultiPro tailgate specifically, the automaker released a new ad called “Anthem,”
which aired earlier this year during several important NFL games.
It’s a strange ad, but it’s doing quite well with audiences.
In the ad, a driver takes his new GMC Sierra to a hilltop as a sort of beacon
to truck drivers everywhere. And those truck drivers answer the call. The ad
shows us drivers of trucks like the Ford F-150 and Ram 1500 ripping the
tailgates off their trucks and walking together toward the hill with the
Sierra, all while singing “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye” by Steam.

Transwest Buick GMC‘s Retail Sales Consultant, Nick Schafer, takes us through the features of the new 2018 GMC Terrain Denali.
Whether it’s getting to a 4×4 trailhead, the slopes in a snowstorm or taking the family to the park, Colorado demands a lot out of your vehicle. So let’s talk about one that checks all of those boxes… the bold and capable 2018 GMC Terrain. It’s one of the top-selling compact SUVs and offers several trim levels and price points ranging anywhere from $22,000-$45,000. At Transwest Buick GMC we offer an incredible selection of new, used and certified pre-owned Terrains.
Compared to its 2017 model the 2018 Terrain has two notable differences, a new design, and improved performance. The exterior has a new sleek look to it with a floating roof and the interior is precisely crafted for luxury and comfort. On the performance end, you will notice the dual exhaust tips which offer better fuel economy but still enough power to get you up the Rocky Mountains. This is a result of all 2018 GMC Terrains having turbocharged engines. There are three different engine choices, one of which is a diesel option:
1.5L Turbo (170 hp/127 @ 5600)
2.0L Turbo (252 hp/188 @ 5500)
1.6L Turbo-Diesel (137 hp/ 102 @ 3750)
The improved fuel economy of the 2018 Terrains has the gas engines getting 24-34 MPG and the diesel option 28-38 MPG! There is even an option that allows four-wheel traction to be disconnected when it is not needed to increase the fuel economy even more. If you enjoy camping in Colorado and need to pull a camping trailer or love the Colorado lake life and have jet skis the 2018 Terrain (although slightly smaller in size to the 2017 model) matches it’s towing capacity at a max of 3,500lbs. Stop by the dealership today or schedule a test drive and see for yourself the luxury and capabilities of the 2018 Terrain!

While supplies last, Transwest Buick GMC is offering $500 extra toward your trade with the purchase of a new 2017 model. Our Sales Team gives a few reasons why trading in your vehicle is a good decision.
There are a lot of decisions to make when it comes to purchasing a new vehicle; the style, color, trim level, budget… the list goes on and on. On top of all that, you are still unsure if you are ready to trade in your current vehicle that you are attached to and have countless memories in, we’ve all been there. At Transwest Buick GMC we asked members of our Sales Team why you should trade in your vehicle.
Lower Maintenance Costs – The cost of ownership over a vehicle’s lifetime will suddenly start to become extremely expensive. This is due to the warranty ending or any discounted or free maintenance programs that you had been enrolled in expiring. No matter how attached you are to your used vehicle you should always be aware of your maintenance costs versus the value of your car. Buying a new Buick or GMC from Transwest automatically enrolls you in the Buick Protection Plan and GMC Pro Grade Protection. Not in the market for a brand new vehicle? Transwest Buick GMC still has you covered! Our Certified Pre-Owned inventory has more than $2,800 of built-in value with two included maintenance visits and a Powertrain Limited Warranty. In addition, on select Used Vehicles, Transwest Buick GMC provides a 3-year/30,000 mile Powertrain Warranty.
Updated Technology – The automotive industry has significantly improved technology and safety features of cars just over the last decade. Not only are cars much safer than they were ten years ago, they are smarter and more efficient. Depending on the year of your current vehicle it might only contain 4 airbags when that used to be the standard. Nowadays, it’s usual for a car to have ten airbags. Both Buick and GMC have high standards for the safety of the vehicles that they produce. Forward collision alert, forward automatic braking and front pedestrian braking are just a few of the safety features of the Buick and GMC brands.
Tax Savings – Colorado is 1 out of 43 states that allows a tax credit on your trade-in. This means that you are only going to pay taxes on the difference between what your trade-in is worth and the price of the new vehicle that you are purchasing. The incentive here is that you are essentially getting an increase in value for your trade-in.
Time Saver – One of the most common myths in the automotive industry is that you should sell your car privately instead of trading it into the dealership because you will make more of a profit. While in some cases that may be true, a majority of the time the benefits of trading your car into the dealership outweigh the option of selling it on your own. One of those benefits is your time. Selling your vehicle privately takes a lot of time, energy and communication. The trade-in process at Transwest Buick GMC is quick, efficient and most importantly, honest. We even offer customers the convenience of Shop | Click | Drive to make the purchasing process even easier.
Reduces Monthly Payments – The more positive equity you have on your trade-in will result in offsetting costs and lowering your monthly payment on your new purchase. If you have negative equity, Transwest Buick GMC will still take the time to assess your trade-in!
In addition to the reasons on why you should trade in your vehicle, Transwest Buick GMC is currently offering a Spring Special* where you can get an EXTRA $500 toward your trade-in with a purchase of a 2017 vehicle. To learn more about your trade-in options or to schedule a time to bring your trade to the dealership, contact a member of our Professional Sales Team. As Colorado’s largest full-line Buick and GMC dealership with a state of the art service and parts department, Transwest Buick GMC is proud to assist the Denver metro area for any automotive needs!
