The 2018 GMC Yukon is a full-size SUV known for its performance and luxury. If you looking for some reasons to buy the 2018 GMC Yukon, we can name a few.
It’s powerful. The standard engine for the 2018 GMC Yukon is the 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8. This engine is matched with a six-speed automatic transmission and generates 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. When properly equipped with the HD Trailering Package, the Yukon can tow up to 8,500 pounds. The Yukon Denali model, however, takes its power from the 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8 engine. This engine is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission and cranks out 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.
It’s safe. The 2018 GMC Yukon offers a number of safety features like Teen Driver and OnStar Safety & Security. Most important is the available suite of Driver Alert and active safety technologies. This suite includes Forward Collision Alert, Front and Rear Park Assist, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, IntelliBeam Headlamps, Adaptvie Cruise Control, the Safety Alert Seat, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking.
It’s spacious. The 2018 GMC Yukon boasts up to 94.7 cubic feet of cargo space.
There’s nothing that says “summer” quite like hooking your boat up to your GMC truck and taking it out to the lake for some fun in the water. Whether you’re planning on going fishing or tubing, though, it’s important you know how to tow your boat. Here are some quick tips for towing your boat that will help you feel more confident out on the road.
Watch your acceleration. When you have a boat attached to your vehicle, it will take a lot longer to accelerate than usual. Keep this in mind as you merge onto highways or make turns – you might need extra space between you and that car in the distance.
Increase your following distance. Just like it takes longer to accelerate, the extra weight of your boat will mean you have a longer stopping distance. This means you should increase your following distance, so you avoid any potential rear-end collisions.
Keep an eye out for fishtailing. Even when you’ve determined your tongue weight and made sure your boat and load are distributed properly, fishtailing can happen. When this does occur, remember to slow down gradually and try and keep your steering wheel as straight as possible. Avoid the temptation to brake to slow down – this can actually increase the fishtail.
Finally, though, if you need a new vehicle to pull that boat, make sure to stop in to Transwest GMC!
Transwest Buick GMC‘s Retail Sales Consultant, Nick Schafer, takes us through the features of the new 2018 GMC Terrain Denali.
Whether it’s getting to a 4×4 trailhead, the slopes in a snowstorm or taking the family to the park, Colorado demands a lot out of your vehicle. So let’s talk about one that checks all of those boxes… the bold and capable 2018 GMC Terrain. It’s one of the top-selling compact SUVs and offers several trim levels and price points ranging anywhere from $22,000-$45,000. At Transwest Buick GMC we offer an incredible selection of new, used and certified pre-owned Terrains.
Compared to its 2017 model the 2018 Terrain has two notable differences, a new design, and improved performance. The exterior has a new sleek look to it with a floating roof and the interior is precisely crafted for luxury and comfort. On the performance end, you will notice the dual exhaust tips which offer better fuel economy but still enough power to get you up the Rocky Mountains. This is a result of all 2018 GMC Terrains having turbocharged engines. There are three different engine choices, one of which is a diesel option:
1.5L Turbo (170 hp/127 @ 5600)
2.0L Turbo (252 hp/188 @ 5500)
1.6L Turbo-Diesel (137 hp/ 102 @ 3750)
The improved fuel economy of the 2018 Terrains has the gas engines getting 24-34 MPG and the diesel option 28-38 MPG! There is even an option that allows four-wheel traction to be disconnected when it is not needed to increase the fuel economy even more. If you enjoy camping in Colorado and need to pull a camping trailer or love the Colorado lake life and have jet skis the 2018 Terrain (although slightly smaller in size to the 2017 model) matches it’s towing capacity at a max of 3,500lbs. Stop by the dealership today or schedule a test drive and see for yourself the luxury and capabilities of the 2018 Terrain!
